Thanks for the photos of Mick's funeral, John. I'll get a selection onto the website when I have time to scan them in. We meet at the Chichester City Club in North Pallant on the last Wednesday of every other month. The next one will be on 30th November. Perhaps you could get to Chi for our Remembrance Sunday parade, jointly with R Sussex: form up by M&S in East Street at 10.30 on 13th November.

I was just browsing through the site and I notice that Colonel David at time had a pint in the Blacksmith Arms in Donnington.

My grandfather (mothers father) was the village blacksmith. He lived in blacksmiths cottages just across the road from the pub. It was once a row of cottages and my grandfather had his forge where I think is now a garage, as the cottages is now just one house., The loo was at the end of the garden.

In the Pub on the wall there is a photo of my grandfather sitting in the pub. I was born in Bridge Cottages which is just down from the village pond. At just 5’6” and shrinking I do at times believe my father was a Canadian soldier, but my eldest sister disagrees As we all know the build up to D Day they had to be accommodate somewhere.

Look forward to seeing you all in May.

Hi Rob Its very nice to hear from you, the only reason that we use Sussex by the Sea along with Soldiers of the Queen is that being in Sussex 99% of our members are Ex Royal Sussex And / or 3rd Bn the Queens Regiment. whilst we do appreciate that "Braganza" along with all of the other regimental Marches are excellent tunes we do not have enough space or time to put them on this web site. I hope this explains the situation without offending and we would certainly like to hear from you again Yours Aye Barry
